Quarter 2 Work:
Literature Circle:
Due Date: January 27, 2017
Overview: A Literature Circle is basically a gathering where a person meets with others to discuss a specific text. So in my group, we had to finish the rest of "The Kite Runner" and each of us had different roles. My job was to analyze the characters of the novel and pull out evidence to support my claims about them. The Literature Circle's purpose is to interact others to gain other opinions and more information that you may have missed or wish to have further explained.
Skills tested: The Literature Circle tested me mainly in analysis skills. Since I need to look at each word in various different ways in order to obtain a better understanding of different meanings. Also, I was tested for my ability to speak to others for an extended amount of time without having an awkward deal silence.
Personal Reflection: I believe that during the Literature circle I was able to encourage others to participate more so that we could have a long going discussion instead of it just dying out. Something I would like to change if I could redo the discussion would be my ability to cite more evidence when I talk because I get caught up and talk more about what I know already instead of pulling up where exactly Hosseini said it.
