Overview: The assignment was to write an essay which could describe how the Civil War happened. I needed to describe everything that led to the civil war and why that happened. The point of this essay is to allow the students to understand the civil war on their own by completing research and finding primary sources to back up their evidence.

 

Skills Tested: The skills I was tested in for this assignment was time management, a real big one, and research skills. While completing this essay I had various problems with completing each part of the essay when it was due. I also needed to find time throughout the day to work on it which was hard for me. My research skills were largely tested because I needed to find and cite multiple primary sources which are not easy to come by. So I had spent hours finding primary sources which could actually support my claims.

 

Personal Reflection: I believe that my strength during this assignment was my ability to (eventually) find a lot of evidence which really did help my audience understand what was going on at the time. I was even able to provide ancient historical information and early American events which were able to strengthen my ideas. I believe my greatest weakness was being on time. I had trouble preparing everything that was due on the actual day I needed to turn it in. However, in the end, I did correct my errors.
